all right you get a data set with a bunch of phone numbers and they look like this uh not consistent pretty messy and you would like to get your phone numbers like this in column b and there is more than one way to do that but were going to try to use a formula and you can tell theres a long and complex formula in my formula bar to get started a couple of functions that you should be aware of one is which is really interesting its called sequence so the sequence function allows you to fill uh an x number of uh digits basically one two three four five and so on and you can specify how many you would like to get now you can also specify how many rows or columns you would like to get and then you get a sequence of numbers so thats the sequence now instead of hard-coded values in the sequence numbers we can get a length of a text string so and thats the length function which is im going to reference this cell right here it will give me as many sequential numbers as i have the length
