You are the recipient of Form 1099-G and the payor is the agency that paid you. When inputting this form make sure and put the agencys name, address, and federal id number, not your own.
If the wrong payee name or tax Id was reported, then you must file two correction forms. First, you need to submit a form with the wrong payee name and tax-id (as filed on the original form) with 0 amounts to void the original form. Then a second form is filed with the correct name, tax id, and correct amount.
You are the PAYER, so should write your name, mailing address, and phone number in the first box. 2. PAYERS federal identification number is most likely your personal Social Security Number.
You should have the following on hand to fill out the 1099-MISC form: Payers (thats you!) name, address, and phone number. Your TIN (Taxpayer Identification Number) Recipients TIN. Recipients name and address. Your account number, if applicable. Amount you paid the recipient in the tax year.
To correct Type 1 errors, file the correct form with the correct amount, code, checkbox, name or address and check the CORRECTED box (generally located at the top of the form). Submit the corrected 1099 form to the recipient and prepare the red Copy A to send to the IRS with the Form 1096 transmittal if paper filing.
The recipient name on your Form 1099-MISC is the person or entity who earned royalties income during the tax year. In most cases, the name must remain unchanged.
Enter the name and TIN of the payment recipient on Form 1099-MISC. For example, if the recipient is an individual beneficiary, enter the name and social security number of the individual; if the recipient is the estate, enter the name and employer identification number of the estate.
On each new Form 1099, list yourself as the payer and the other owner as the recipient. On Form 1096, list yourself as the Filer. A spouse is not required to file a nominee return to show amounts owned by the other spouse.
