My name is Connie and I have worked at UnityPoint for two and a half years in the housekeeping department. In my field it is a sanitation and the disinfecting and the cleaning of the rooms to prepare for patients coming in and to do a daily clean of patients that are in the room. In a daily clean we do what is called a high touch area so everything that is touched by the nurses, the doctors, the patient we wipe down with our oxycide rag that is a very strong solution of hydrogen peroxide and vinegar. It kills all germs on contact within three minutes we go through the room. Empty the trash. Disinfect. We use a neutral floor cleaner on our little mega mops and we mop the floor and a regular clean when the patient is discharged we strip everything out of the room open up every drawer, every cabinet. We start on one wall and we go all the way around the room wiping everything down inside everything. It generally under room size takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on the room and what area. W
