hey hey welcome back Social Work tribe uh in this video were breaking down the nasw code of ethics and this is a part three so stay tuned okay so uh 1.04 competence a social workers should provide services and represent themselves as competent only within the boundaries of their education training license certification consultation received a supervised experience or other relevant professional experience so saying hey if were not so familiar in it if we dont have the proper training the proper education lets stay away from it and you know a question could come up where what happens if a client contacts us for service that again were just not uh as competent in to provide a true uh service of value we would want to refer out because again lets say someone comes in for eating disorders and we have no experience or just not enough experience to provide really solid treatment for them then we will want to let the client know of course and refer them out to someone that is competent
