In Microsoft Word, you can easily clear the formatting for selected text. For instance, you are working on a document and have applied various formatting styles to the content in your document, and none is working for you, or you want to start over. Or you have copied and paste some contents from the internet, and want to clear the formatting for the entire text. To clear the formatting from content, select the text for which you want to clear the formatting, and then click Styles dialog box button, under the Styles section. Alternatively, you can press Control + Shift + Alter + S key, to open the Styles pane. In the Styles pane, click Clear All option at the top of the list, and the style of selected text will revert to Normal. You can also clear the Formatting by, selecting the text, and then click Clear All Formatting button from Font Section of Home Tab. From the menu ribbon, click on the Home tab located to the right of the File tab. Within the Home tab, in the Font section, locate and click the Clear Formatting button which is an icon that appears with Aa and a diagonal eraser.
Identifying and Removing Metadata Right-click on the file. View its Properties. If there is metadata that you would like to remove, select the Details tab. Click Remove Properties and Personal Information.
Turn off Track Changes On the Review tab, select Track Changes. In the Track Changes drop-down list, select Off.
Removing Metadata From Word Using a Mac Open the file you would like to remove metadata from. Click on the Tools menu and select the Protect Document option. To remove all tracked changes from a document, be sure that all changes are showing, and then do the following: Click the Review tab on the ribbon. Revise the document, and save it by going to File and clicking on Save. Print out a copy of the revised document showing the tracked changes. Hide the tracked changes by going to View and clicking on Markup. Print a clean copy of the document.
Open the Microsoft Word file and click Tools. Click Options. Click the Security tab. Select Remove any personal information from file properties on save.(MACS) MICROSOFT WORD: Go to the Review tab. Click the Protect Document tool. Click Remove personal information from this file on save.
Clean metadata in Microsoft Word Open the Microsoft Word document you would like to clean. Click the DocsCorp tab in the toolbar. Click Clean in the cleanDocs section.
Open the file from which you would like to remove metadata. Click on the Tools menu and select the Protect Document option. In the Protect Document window check the box next to Remove personal information from this file on save. Finish working on your document and then save.
Just select the text you want to fix, hold down your Control key and press the Space Bar. CTRL+Q removes all paragraph-level formatting weird indents, line spacing, extra spacing before and after the paragraphs, etc. Again, select the text, hold down your Control key and press the letter Q.
