hello everybody and welcome to excel made easy Im your excel guru and today I brought you our formula of excel which is called Im its something different to say ah the formulas name is clean CL e and clean all right well what does it do well it technically it removes any non-printable character or characters from a given set of text so thats the clean formula for you well C or the dirty formula I remember that movie Dirty Dancing wonderful movie ok this is how the formula works I have taken an example this is very clean text though I mentioned the ready text over here now this is dirty text it has this dot over here which is non printable character and same over here these two dots are non printable so let us see how will the clean formula clean them CLE am is the formula and it says enter text so this is my textile crow close the bucket now see no changes but it is Center aligned is equal to again clean its asking for text so I choose my text Ill close the bracket and see this

To add the formula field, go to the Field Explorer panel. Click on Formula Fields to select it. Right click on Formula Fields, then select New.
Place your data in detail section and take simmary in report footer, You can take that by right click ojn field and use insert summary option.
Text = + textBox1. Text + ; For above first you have to create the formula field in your crystal reports and set the above code then after copy your formula field to your crystal reports. It will shows the specified value of textbox into formula field.
If you want to change the formula that calculates the data in the formula field, select the formula field in Field Explorer. Right click, then choose Edit. You will then see the Formula Workshop dialogue box. You can then change the formula.
Resolution In Crystal Reports, activate the Design tab. Right click on the text field and select Format Field Click on the Common tab. Click on the formula edit button next to Suppress (this allows you to edit the field suppression formula). Add the suppress formula as: If the TABLENAME.
IIF and IsNull are functions in Crystal Reports that are used in formulas to test fields for blanks, empty strings, missing values and NULL, then return some valid output. This is especially helpful when preparing a report, since these values can cause blank lines to be printed.
Right-click on the text box and select Format Text. On the Common tab, mark the Suppress Embedded Field Blank Lines checkbox.To suppress blank sections: Go to Report Section Expert. Highlight the section that is showing blanks (in this example, the Details section) Mark the Suppress Blank Section checkbox. Click OK.
Answer: Right-click on the section name on the left and select Section Expert (or go to Report Section Expert and select the section on the left) Click the X+2 button across from Suppress (No Drill-Down) Enter the condition for when the section should be suppressed. Click Save and Close on the formula window.
You can open formula workshop by going to Data click formulas or by clicking formula tab on Data tool bar. In the formula workshop there are 2 panels Navigation Panel and Objects Panel. Navigation panel contains a folder for each type of formulas in Crystal Reports.
To write a conditional formatting formula, right-click the report and click Format Result Object element select the property on which you want to apply conditional formula click and it will open formula workshop. Write the formula in the formula text pane, save and close it.
