hello this is trevor lewis and this is another video from the voyager middle school steam lab in this video were going to be looking at an engraved piece of wood this is plywood five millimeter plywood and you can see that theres a lot of ash and soot that has been uh blown back down onto the surface of the finished piece so were gonna look at different options for how to clean this up so there are several options one is if you like the effect you can clear coat it using some spray on clear coat and seal it in make sure to use good ventilation you can also sand it down using either manual sanding or a vibrating sander but that will sometimes get dust down into the engraving the other way im trying to show you here although its hard to do while holding the phone is you can use a brush and i actually have this special like stiff bristled brush that i use specifically for it it has a tendency to get a little bit messy thats a good way if you just want to knock down the large amount
