Changing the Default Template for a New Drawing In the drawing window, right-click and choose Options. Click the Files tab and expand Template Settings Default Template File Name for QNEW. Select the file path and choose Browse.
This can be efficiently done using the Purge command, which identifies and removes the unused items. 1.To access the Purge command, click on the application button, on the top left corner of the AutoCAD window. Youll be presented with a pop up. Click on Blocks, and select either Purge or Purge All.
Method 1: Open the drawing file. Audit and fix any errors: Type AUDIT on the command line. Y for Yes to fix any errors, then Enter. Remove unused named objects from the drawing: Type PURGE on the command line. Purge Registered Applications (from the command line): Type -PURGE. Save the drawing.
DWG-PURGE. DWG-PURGE-BATCH offers the possibility to purge multiple drawings without opening the files. This plug-in can help purge some objects that the AutoCAD native commands cant.
Type PURGE in the command line or Application menu (represented by the big red A in the top-left corner), then select Drawing Utilities, and choose Purge. Select the items to Purge and select the types of objects you want to purge, or simply purge All to remove all unused items in one go.
To Purge All Unused Layers Click Application button Drawing Utilities Purge. Find. If necessary, click Purgeable Items. To purge unreferenced layers, use one of the following methods: To purge all unreferenced layers, choose Layers. To purge specific layers, expand Layers, and choose the layers to be purged. Click Purge.
Remove unused named objects from the drawing: Type PURGE on the command line. Enable all checkboxes checked on. Click Purge All.
