The prevailing legal position on euthanasia has been established by a series of three cases Gian Kaur v. State of Punjab in 1996, Aruna Shanbaug v. Union of India in 2011 and finally Common Cause v. Union of India in 2018.
To be valid, living wills in Canada must be: written and dated by the maker of the living will. signed by the maker, in the presence of at least two or more witnesses. signed by the witnesses, also in the presence of the maker. the witnesses must be of legal age and are allowed by law to become witnesses.

A living trust deals with the property and assets of an incapacitated person. The trust essentially becomes the new owner of the assets.
