Hello Everyone. Welcome to Excel 10 Tutorial. In this quick tutorial Im going to show you how you can add strikethrough and remove a strikethrough in Microsoft Excel. This is easy function for Microsoft Excel but most of the time you dont know where to find it. So lets get started and Im going to add a strikethrough to all these seven cells and Im going to select them now Im going to click on this arrow button okay now if you click there this format cells dialog box will pop up and take a look at here effects and here you will find a strikethrough if you check mark this option and click OK and Done. You can see now all these seven cells has been strikethrough. So if you undo that option just click on this arrow again now uncheck this strikethrough option and click OK. The Microsoft Excel CLEAN function removes all nonprintable characters from a string. The CLEAN function is a built-in function in Excel that is categorized as a String/Text Function. It can be used as a worksheet function (WS) in Excel.
If your cursor shape has changed to a cross-hair symbol, it means that Precise Cursors have been enabled. Some users prefer this setting when theyre working in very fine detail.
If you want to remove the strikethrough formatting, simply press the Alt key and the letter U at the same time. This will remove the strikethrough from the selected cells.
Important: The CLEAN function was designed to remove the first 32 nonprinting characters in the 7-bit ASCII code (values 0 through 31) from text. In the Unicode character set, there are additional nonprinting characters (values 127, 129, 141, 143, 144, and 157).
Using your cursor, highlight the entire document, or the parts of the document you want to see without the line. Click on Format, and then on Font. In the Font tab, uncheck the box next to Strikethrough. This will remove the line covering the text.
If you click a cell and then press DELETE or BACKSPACE, you clear the cell contents without removing any cell formats or cell comments. If you clear a cell by using Clear All or Clear Contents, the cell no longer contains a value, and a formula that refers to that cell receives a value of 0 (zero).
In addition to the standard bold, italic and underline buttons that appear on the ribbon, Excel can add a strikethrough effect, which makes words appear crossed out. You can access the strikethrough effect and other font formatting options that dont appear on the ribbon from the Format Cell Font dialog box.
Click the Format Cells box launcher. Tip: You can also press Ctrl+5. In the Format Cells box, under Effects, click Strikethrough.
Deleting Rows Containing Struck-Through Text Click at the left side of the first row you want to selectthe first one containing struck-through text. The entire row should be selected. Hold down the Ctrl key as you click at the left side of any additional rows you want to delete. Press Ctrl+- (the minus key).
