You will require a permit for filming or photography on the Canary Wharf Estate if: The filming and photography is for professional use, sale, commercial gain or media reproduction including social media; and/or. you will potentially cause disruption or harm to people or property on the Canary Wharf Estate; and/or.
One permit is good for one monument. So if you want to shoot at say the Lincoln Memorial, and the Jefferson Memorial, you will have to apply for two permits. Most of the popular monuments, like the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument and the Tidal Basin, do require a photography permit.
Freedom to photograph and film Members of the public and the media do not need a permit to film or photograph in public places and police have no power to stop them filming or photographing incidents or police personnel.
