in recent versions of word you tend to find that when you start it up you get this start screen come up instead of a blank document so how do you stop this start screen from coming up and just go into a blank document like you used to be able to in the old version of word well this guide shows you how to do that so first of all we just need to open up word so lets just open up word and then once its open just go into blank documents so move your mouse over blank document and double left click and then once youre in there just click on file just up in the top left hand corner of the screen just click once and then go down to options move your mouse over options left click once and then we go to general now this might already be selected but just click on it once just to make sure okay so then we scroll down here and what we want to do is we want to take the tick out of this show the start screen when this application starts so move your mouse over that left click once so the tick is
