Include a Corrected Copy The only copy that you include should be the amended copy. At the top of Form 1099, you will see two boxes. One is labeled void, and the other is labeled corrected. Put a check mark in the corrected box. As long as you include Form 1096, the requested changes will be made.
Its not too hard to amend a 1099. You just need to fill out a corrected one and include that copy as well as a new form 1096 when you mail them out. Specifically, you should put a checkmark in the corrected box on the top of form 1099. This will let the IRS know that the firm has been corrected.
What do I do? The IRS has but does not use the address to process returns, so the 1099 can still be submitted to the IRS, even if your address is different. However, you should correct your address in NCTracks because this is also where a paper payment would be sent.
Youll need to work directly with the IRS to amend or correct your 1099 forms. Use these IRS instructions to do so. Once corrected, provide the corrected return to the recipient or contractor yourself.

How do I file a manual amendment after I e-file? Order 1099-MISC IRS forms online at IRS Online Ordering for Information Returns and Employer Returns or over the phone at 800.829. Fill out the 1099-MISC form and be sure to select the Corrected checkbox. Mail the form to the IRS.
Navigate to the dashboard and select 1099 Corrections. and error type. Choose the specific business and the type of 1099 forms you need to correct. Select the bulk correction option and export the form information as an Excel file. Update the necessary corrected information within the Excel file.
