Importing data into Excel tables, PowerPivot models, or Power BI with dates in a different format than your system settings can cause issues. This often goes unnoticed until it's too late. However, this problem can easily be fixed. The issue occurs when expecting data for a 12-month period but only having data for January. The CSV file shows data for every month, stored as the first day of each month in a day-month-year format. When imported using Power Query with a different date format, it can appear that data is only available for the first 12 days of January. This is due to Power Query assuming a different date format.
