A WordPress template is a structure that defines a particular page on your WordPress website. WordPress templates come within a theme. Meaning, if youve chosen a theme for your website, that theme will most likely include some templates.
To edit a template Click Posts Add New to add a new post or Pages Add New to add a new page. This opens the WordPress Block Editor. Navigate to the Post/Page Settings sidebar tab. Under the Summary section, click the name of the template. A popup will appear. Click Edit template.
To add a WordPress page template to a page, edit or add a new page from the Pages menu located in the WordPress Dashboard. 2. Find the Page Attributes section. In this section, youll see a drop-down list for available page templates.
In your WordPress.com dashboard, click Pages. Click a pages name to open that page in the editor. In the Page settings on the right, under Summary, locate the Template option. Note the name of the template the page is using.
In your WordPress dashboard, go to Appearance Themes and click the Add New button at the top. You can either upload your new themes ZIP file here or, if your theme is in the WordPress directory, use the search feature to find and select it.
First, navigate to the WordPress page that you want to use as a template. Click on the Edit button to open the page editor. Once the editor is open, click on the Templates dropdown menu in the right sidebar. From the Templates dropdown, select Save as Template.
Once you have finished creating the page, go to the WordPress dashboard and navigate to Pages in the left-hand menu. Hover over the page that you want to save as a template and click on Edit to open the page editor. In the page editor, click on the Page Attributes section on the right-hand side of the screen.
