Click anywhere in the table and then go to Table Tools Design on the Ribbon. In the Tools group, click Convert to Range. Right-click the table, then in the shortcut menu, click Table Convert to Range. Note: Table features are no longer available after you convert the table back to a range.
Set a column to a specific width Select the column or columns that you want to change. On the Home tab, in the Cells group, click Format. Under Cell Size, click Column Width. In the Column width box, type the value that you want. Click OK.
Be sure that there arent any hidden rows on the worksheet, below the Excel table. Those hidden rows could contain data that prevents tables from automatically expanding. To unhide all the rows: Click the Select All button, at the top left of the Excel sheet.
The reason this happens is because the number formatting was NOT applied to all of the cells in the column at the same time. If you apply number formatting to one cell, then apply the same format to the rest of the cells in the column later, the Table does NOT set that as the formatting for the entire column.
To remove a table but keep data and formatting, go to the Design tab Tools group, and click Convert to Range. Or, right-click anywhere within the table, and select Table Convert to Range.

Merge multiple cells. If you wish to make a cell bigger without impacting the entire row or column, one option is to merge multiple cells. When you merge cells, you combine two or more cells into one that spans across multiple rows or columns.
Generally, every cell in a row or column has the same size, so you cant adjust the size of a cell individually without affecting the others in its same row or column. You can merge adjacent cells to create larger compound cells, however, and you can set rows and columns to automatically adjust to fit text.
1. Click on the specified column heading or row number to select the entire column or row you need to move. 2. Move the cursor to the edge of selected column or row until it changes to a 4-sided arrow cursor , press and hold the Shift key then drag the selected column or row to a new location.
