In cases where you want to delete or amend an invoice, a credit note will usually suffice as the solution. A credit note allows you to effectively - and legally - cancel an invoice. Its required by law that you always keep a copy of all invoices you issue for control purposes.
Change your organisations address details Click the organisation name, select Settings, then click Invoice settings. Next to the invoice template you want to update, click Options, then select Edit. Change the contact details. Click Save.
Follow these steps: Go to the Lists menu. Select Templates. From the list of invoice templates, choose what you want to edit, then right-click it. Hit Edit Template. Press the Update Information button under the Company Transaction Information section. Update the company address on the next window that appears.
No matter how careful you are when invoicing, mistakes can happen. A customers address may be typed wrongly, a discount may not have been applied, or the items themselves may be incorrect. Once sent, you can no longer edit the invoice directly, and a credit note must be issued instead.
If you need to adjust the total amount up or down, you can issue a separate credit note in lieu of an amended invoice. To correct additional details like date, address, or product details, you must submit a fresh invoice, ensuring that it comes with a unique invoice number to reflect the change.
Also remember when posting an invoice it is a legal document that you cannot (and should not) change even though it is something as simple as an address.
How do I change my business address on invoices Go to the Invoices menu and select any invoices. Click the Edit work info hyperlink. Update the address and hit Save. Click the Preview tab on the bottom left and check the address.
