Not Required for AMCAS Verification Your AMCAS application will be verified even if your letters of recommendation are not yet received. However, medical school are unlikely to actually review your application without letters of recommendation.
Information in update letters should be noteworthy updates that you have not yet written about in your medical school applications, including your primary application or secondary essays. Meaningful updates include: Job promotions. Research publication acceptances.
Letters do not have to be assigned to the letter entries in your AMCAS application before you can submit, although you have the option to add this information before submitting. Please note that after you submit your application, you can add letter entries, but you cannot delete or change existing letter entries.
Once your personal statement is submitted to AMCAS it cannot be corrected, altered or amended. This is why it is very important to read over it multiple times, have another person read it in the application itself and do everything possible to ensure your best work is presented.
Letters of evaluation (although please note that you can only make additions of up to 10 letters, and you must notify AMCAS if you have a letter you wish to no longer be sent to medical schools; you cannot delete letters of evaluation from your application).
You can upload letters electronically via the AMCAS Letter Writer Application, or Interfolio . Letters sent through Interfolio can take up to 3 business days to be marked as received within the AMCAS application. Letters uploaded through the AMCAS Letter Writer Application are immediately marked as received.
Low acceptance rates are a common occurrence at many of the top medical schools in the US. There is nothing wrong with reapplying to medical school after being rejected.
