For each lift, you get 3 attempts, and after each one you have to write what your next attempt will be on a card and give it to the score table. You cant take back an attempt after you submit it, so make sure you choose it intelligently. You also cant go down in weight from the previous attempt.
Knee sleeves (elasticized knee supports) not exceeding 8 inches (20 centimeters) in length may be worn. A combination of a knee wrap and a knee sleeve is not permitted. Knee wraps shall not touch the socks or the lifting suit. Wraps may only be worn during the Squat and Deadlift.

I personally use stretch tape so it still stays thin, yet there is enough pliability in the tape for my thumb to have its full range of motion. Did you know that it is illegal for your thumb tape to completely cover the top of your fingernail in weightlifting competitions?
