On a Mac, selection by sentence is executed by Command+Click. See the section on selecting text graphics in this Support Article which also can be accessed by going to Help Word Help searching on keyboard shortcuts.
While you have two or more documents open in your favorite word-processing software, simply press and hold the Command key and then strike the ~ (Tilde) key on your keyboard.
Change the font or font size Select the text you want to change. In the Format sidebar, click the Style button near the top. Click the Font pop-up menu, then choose a font. Click the small arrows to the right of the font size to make the font larger or smaller.
Quickly select a range of text without dragging: Click in front of the first character, then hold down the Shift key on your keyboard and click at the end of the text you want to select. You can select just a few characters or a large amount of text across paragraphs or pages.
Select multiple items: Press and hold the Command key, then click the items (they dont need to be next to each other). Select multiple items that are adjacent: Click the first item, then press the Shift key and click the last item.
Shift Click allows you to select items in contiguity. By clicking on the first item, and then Shift Clicking on the last item, you will select everything in between the first and last items, reading like a book (left to right, top to bottom).
Apply a text replacement to existing text: To use the text replacement in part of a document, select the text, choose Edit Substitutions Show Substitutions, make sure the Text Replacement checkbox is selected, then click Replace in Selection. To use the text replacement in the entire document, click Replace All.
Select multiple adjacent rows or columns: Click the number or letter for the first row or column, then drag a white dot across the adjacent rows or columns. Select non-adjacent rows or columns: Command-click any row numbers or column letters.
