Unfortunately, you can only set a new owner for files created in Google apps. In other words, you can change the owner of Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drawings and My Maps. You can transfer ownership of a folder as well, but changing the owner of the folder wont change the owners of the files within that folder.
Change owners in Google Drive On your computer, open Google Drive. Find the file you want to transfer then right-click. Click Share . Next to the recipients name, click the Down arrow. Transfer ownership.
On your Android phone or tablet, open a document in the Google Docs app . Tap Edit . To select a word, double-tap it. Move the blue markers to select more text. Start editing. To undo or redo an action, click Undo or Redo .

If the document is one you want to share, then set the menu to Owned by anyone. This enables others to view and edit your document. Any file you create is automatically owned by you. If you wish to transfer ownership to someone else, click Not owned by me.
When finished, you turn in your work. Before the due date, you can unsubmit work, make changes, and resubmit it. After you turn in a file from Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides, only the teacher can see and edit your work. For instructions, go to Turn in an assignment.
Open a file in Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides. In the top right corner, click Share. Click Get shareable link in the top right of the Share with others box. To choose whether a person can view, comment, or edit the file, click the Down arrow next to Anyone with the link.
It typically requires an internet connection to use. However, you can also use Docs offline and continue to create and edit files with Chrome and Googles mobile apps (Docs, Sheets, and Slides) on Android and iOS devices.
Problem: Students can still edit a submitted Google doc assignment after its deadline has ended without being marked late. Also students can reply to instructors reviewing and commenting directly on the doc (before the doc and grade are released).
Click the drop-down arrow next to the person who you want to make the new owner and select Make Owner. Click Yes to confirm this permanent change. That person immediately becomes the owner of the document. Your permission will change to Editor, unless the new owner changes it to something else.
