Best DPI setting You do want to avoid playing at too high of a DPI, anything past 12000 is likely excessive, but more importantly, some sensors at this DPI accelerate and emulate the dots per inch, causing inconsistencies, it's not a true raw DPI.
Exhaust gases normally discharges at a temperature of around 420°C (788°F).
Some solutions include larger turbos, water injection, and aftermarket intercoolers, but these tend to be very expensive upgrades. Manta Performance can lower your EGTs without costing you a fortune! A Manta Performance exhaust system is a great way to lower your vehicle's EGTs and improve its performance.
Commonly, diesel performance enthusiasts will ask: “What's a safe EGT?” The short answer is anything sustained below 1350 degrees Fahrenheit is acceptable by most OEM standards so long as your other engine temperatures remain within safe boundaries.
Therefore, the exhaust gas temperature should be controlled below 135℃. If the exhaust gas temperature is too high, the lubricating oil may be carbonized and deteriorated and the lubricating performance will be reduced.
How Hot Is Too Hot? Based on our own experience in the sled pulling and drag racing world, we can definitely say that any engine running at 1,800 to 2,000 degrees EGT for more than a second or two should be rebuilt every season and may incur turbocharger, cylinder head, or piston damage during the season.
Exhaust gas temperatures, are a byproduct of the combustion effect. Of course ignition timing, plays a big role, in what we see when monitoring EGT temperatures. As we know, advancing the timing, typically results in lower egt's, and retarding the timing, typically increases it.
If everything is working properly, 1250º to 1300º F. is a safe turbine inlet temperature, even for sustained running, mile after mile. Above 1300º F. things can start to get edgy. Remember, excessive EGT damage is cumulative.
Diesel engine exhaust gases vary with speed and load. High loads and high speeds result in the highest temperatures. Generally, temperatures of 500–700°C (932–1293°F) are produced in the exhaust gases from diesel-cycle engines at 100% load to 200–300°C (392–572°F) with no load.
As diesel engines run hotter, their efficiency decreases because more fuel is needed to produce power. High EGT readings can be caused by a number of problems, including over-fueling, overheating, or blocked air intake filters or ducting.
