A tenancy agreement can normally only be changed if both you and your landlord agree. If you both agree, the change should be recorded in writing, either by drawing up a new written document setting out the terms of the tenancy or by amending the existing written tenancy agreement.
Property management agreements typically are 12 months in length but can be shorter or longer. Shorter contracts allow for more flexibility in renegotiations. It may seem a multi-year contract that locks-in the relationship would be the most beneficial on the surface.
You may be able to change the management of your building if youre unhappy with the way its being run and you live in a leasehold flat. You can either: apply to a tribunal to ask them to appoint a new manager. take over the management responsibilities, known as your Right to Manage
Making an offer on a rental property isnt legally binding. If for any reason you need to withdraw the offer placed (written or verbally), you can do so as long as you havent signed the rental agreement. Inform the agent or landlord so that you have evidence of amending or retracting your offer.
