In Word, you can fine-tune line and paragraph spacing in your documents. To adjust line spacing, select text and use the Line and Paragraph Spacing command in the Paragraph group. The default setting is 1.08; changing it to 1.0 brings lines closer, while 2.0 sets them to double spacing. For precise adjustments, access Line Spacing Options to modify the line-spacing mode and amount. Setting the mode to Multiple allows you to input your desired spacing, like changing 1.08 to 1.25 for wider spacing. Alternatively, selecting Exactly offers measurement in points, typically setting spacing slightly larger than the font size.

Defined benefit plans provide a fixed, pre-established benefit for employees at retirement. Employees often value the fixed benefit provided by this type of plan. On the employer side, businesses can generally contribute (and therefore deduct) more each year than in defined contribution plans.
3 For example, a plan for a retiree with 30 years of service at retirement may state the benefit as an exact dollar amount, such as $150 per month per year of the employees service. This plan would pay the employee $4,500 per month in retirement.
Under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), a benefit plan is a promise by an employer to provide benefits to employees, where the funds for payment of the benefits are transferred to a party unrelated to the employer, such as an insurance company.
Only employees are eligible to participate in a Defined Benefit Plan. Independent contractors are not eligible. Employers may exclude any employee group but must be able to meet minimum participation, coverage and nondiscrimination requirements.
