Hi, this is Gary with MacMost.com. On todays episode lets look at a new feature in Pages that allows you to rearrange things in your document using Sections. So Apple recently released new versions of Pages, Numbers, and Keynote. There are a lot of small new features in these. Im going to look at one today. Im using Pages version 5.6 and Im just going to create a new blank document. In the past I could certainly look at the page thumbnails here on the left and see what pages Ive done but I couldnt really rearrange them. They are basically a way for me to jump from page to page. Now, with Pages 5.6, I can actually rearrange them in a way that you might do say if you were writing a story and you want to have sections that you rearrange or perhaps a script or perhaps notes for class. Things like that and you kind of want to rearrange sheets of paper. You can do that using Sections. So lets start off by just creating a bunch of pages that may have some notes on them. How to Interchange Pages in Word With the Navigation Pane Click the View tab and check the box for Navigation Pane. When the tool opens on the left side of your document, click Headings in the pane. Select the heading for the page you want to move and drag it to its new location in the Headings list.
On your Mac, do any of the following: On a trackpad, swipe left or right with three or four fingers. On a Magic Mouse, swipe with two fingers. Press the Control key and the Right or Left arrow key. Enter Mission Control, move the pointer to the top edge of the screen, then click a space in the Spaces bar.
Press the control (Ctrl) key followed by the Tab key to go to the next tab in your window. Both keys are on the far-left side of the keyboard, in the same column. Tap this combination once to switch tabs a single time. If you press Ctrl and Tab several times, then you can continuously switch tabs.
You can easily rearrange the pages in a page layout document to appear in any order. In a word-processing document with multiple sections, you can rearrange the sections. Note: If individual pages all belong to one section, you cant rearrange individual pages in a word-processing document as described in this task.
Shift + Control + Tab With these two commands, you can cycle back and forth through every tab in the browser window very quickly. On keyboards that have PgUp/PgDn keys, you can use Control + PgUp/PgDn to switch tabs as well if you feel more comfortable doing it this way.
Touch and hold the thumbnail of the page or section you want to move, then drag it to where you want it.
Move to the next or previous page: Press the Page Up or Page Down key. If your keyboard doesnt have these keys, press Fn-Up Arrow or Fn-Down Arrow. Move to a specific page: Press Control-Command-G, type the page number, then press Return or click Go to Page.
