Got questions?

Below are some common questions from our customers that may provide you with the answer you're looking for. If you can't find an answer to your question, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Syntax: To find the sequence number of the ACE you want to delete, use show run or show access-list name-str |1-99|100-199 to view the ACL. Use ip access-list to enter the Named-ACL ( nacl ) context of the ACE. In the Named-ACL context, type no and enter the sequence number of the ACE you want to delete.
Each line of an ACL is assigned a sequence number (SN) by default. The first line is given SN 10, and each subsequent lines SN increments by 10. These sequence numbers allow us to enter a line and have it placed in the ACL anywhere we like, rather than it always being tacked on at the bottom.
ACL number for the standard ACLs has to be between 199 and 13001999. Once the access list is created, it needs to be applied to an interface. You do that by using the ip access-group ACLNUMBER in|out interface subcommand.
Delete an Existing Entry: Killing a line is easy, just put no in front of the line number.
Copy the existing list into Notepad. Remove the lines you wanted removed or inserted, the search and replace to change the ACL number, then paste the newly numbered ACL in. Then, go find the commands that reference the old ACL, and update them to point to the new ACL.
Numbered ACLs ACLs 1 to 99 and 1300 to 1999 are standard ACLs, while ACLs 100 to 199 and 2000 to 2699 are extended ACLs, as shown in Example 4-5.
You can delete any ACE from any ACL (named or numbered) by using the ip access-list command to enter the ACLs context, and then using the no seq-# command, see Deleting an ACE from an existing ACL.
How to Modify ACL Entries on a File Modify ACL entries on a file by using the setfacl command. $ setfacl -m acl-entry-list filename -m. Modifies the existing ACL entry. acl-entry-list. Verify that the ACL entries were modified on the file by using the getfacl command. $ getfacl filename.
Sequence number: the sequence number is a 32 bit field that indicates how much data is sent during the TCP session. When you establish a new TCP connection (3 way handshake) then the initial sequence number is a random 32 bit value. The receiver will use this sequence number and sends back an acknowledgment.
To completely remove an entire ACL, first remove it from the interface by using the no ip access-group access-list-number command on the specific interface and then use the global configuration no access-list access-list-number command to delete the entire ACL.
