if youre applying for jobs youre going through an applicant tracking system and one of the tips that i gave was changing your titles if it makes sense for the jobs that youre interested in now the question came up is that lying if you change your titles and heres how i look at it if youre changing your title to something thats more commonly accepted in the industry that youre applying then i think its totally fine now this is of course assuming that you have actually done the job that youre changing your title to for example if my current title is recruiter and im applying for a role as a talent acquisition business partner its probably okay to change my title to match however i dont want to change my title to something that i didnt do like calling myself the director of talent acquisition that would be a lie now changing your titles to something more commonly accepted in the broader industry is going to help with discoverability and ultimately help get you more interview

Name-dropping Being a known rather than an unknown candidate will increase your chances of getting an invitation to interview. Referrals and personal recommendations are your way in, so use names to your advantage. Mention mutual contacts in your covering letter.
Resumes and cover letters are not legal documents, so it is acceptable to list your preferred name on them.
For example, Sarah Smith marries Adam Jones. A hyphenated last name would be Smith-Jones or Jones-Smith. Its your choice which name comes first.
Dont worry about an employer having difficulty checking your references or your work history because of an announcement of a name change. You can let the prospective employer know that there are employment records in your former name.
In short, you can use your chosen or preferred name throughout your job search, as long as you provide your legal name when it comes time for a background check. (If you dont provide current or prior legal names at that point, it can be seen as lying on the application, and grounds for firing.)
Here are a few ways to accurately reflect a company name change on your resume: List current company name followed by its previous name. Include previous company name and date of merger or acquisition. List positions and new company name and date of merger or acquisition.
You are always going to be the same person you were and a name change would not really make a difference in terms of a job search. Its not going to change your skills, qualifications and experience. Neither would it change your personality or accent.
Some bad recruiters work in this prejudiced way. You are always going to be the same person you were and a name change would not really make a difference in terms of a job search. Its not going to change your skills, qualifications and experience. Neither would it change your personality or accent.
You should include your full name (first and last) at the top of your resume. A resume is not a legal document, so it is acceptable to use your preferred name on your resume. You will use your legal name for other official documents during the hiring process, such as background checks and insurance forms.
Full Name. Include your first and last name on your resume. If you have a very common name think James Smith or Maria Garcia consider including your middle name or middle initial to help distinguish you from the other 30,000+ professionals who share your full name.
