hi this is demonstration video on how to change the ink cartridge cassette and correction tape ribbon i guess you would say on a nakatima wpt-160 wpt-160 and theres the brand nakajima so the first thing you gotta do obviously is open it up so you can have access to the cartridge and the correction ribbon and you just grab the two sides here theres nothing to unlock you just grab this section will lift up and hinge you can close this first snap it down you can but just pull up on this on both sides grab it and pull up and it hinges it will stay back there and inside this is your ink ribbon cassette cartridge whatever you want to call it these come out very easily theres a simple little metal see this metal tab right here thats the only thing that really holds this in place so to take it out you just put some pressure on it pushing back towards the back of the machine and then it snaps out and then see those little two these two things right here one on each side those line up with

On a cartridge typewriter, simply press the release lever to disengage the ribbon. To disengage the spools: simply pull them straight up out of the typewriter. There may also be two additional spring-loaded metal pieces that hold the ribbon in place. They'll be located close to the ribbon spools.
Find the ribbon spools. Remove your typewriter's cover by pressing it on both sides, next to the separating line. Press gently but firmly until the cover clicks open. The spools may be covered up in newer typewriter models. Look for a small clasp or button to remove this cover.

There is no 'delete' key on a typewriter! To correct mistakes, typists used erasers or correction fluid, and retyped the words again. Later on, electronic typewriters had in-built correction type, so the backspace could delete words.

If you have a manual typewriter, then lift the spools directly out of the machine. On a cartridge typewriter, you should simply press the release lever to disengage the ribbon. To disengage the spools, you can simply pull them straight up out of the typewriter.
From my personal experience, a ribbon normally lasts 9 to 12 months with light to medium usage. As there is a finite amount of ink inside the ribbon, the more you type, the more of the ink is transferred from the ribbon to the paper, and thus the ribbon has a shorter lifespan.
