The Quote ID is a unique reference that each Quote record will be assigned. Using the Quote ID as a reference on customer Quote documents makes it easier to find the Quote if the customer emails in, referencing that Quote ID.
Sync Quotes and Opportunities Open the quote that you want to sync, and then click Start Sync. Follow the prompts until the quote and opportunity are synced. To stop syncing between a quote and an opportunity, open the synced quote, and then click Stop Sync.
The primary quote is a quote that is most likely to be accepted by the customer and get converted to an order. You can, however, mark only one quote as the primary quote for an opportunity. The details of the primary quote is used for analysis and reporting, such as revenue forecasting.

An Opportunity is an opportunity to sell and we raise quotes against those opportunities and against specific accounts. Since we usually are required to raise multiple Quotes for multiple business accounts for each Opportunity we have a one to many relationship between Opportunities and Quotes.
On a given opportunity, you can have multiple quotes - as many as youd like depending on different situations and conversations with the client. But there can be only one primary quote that is synced with your opportunity, and its contributing to the amount, and it dictates what shows in your forecasting or pipeline.
Open the quote that you want to sync, and then click Start Sync. Follow the prompts until the quote and opportunity are synced. The opportunitys Synced Quote field and quotes related list identify the quote thats synced.
