Below are some common questions from our customers that may provide you with the answer you're looking for. If you can't find an answer to your question, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Your clients must keep adequate records to prove the amount taken. Contributions of $250 or more to any single charity require written acknowledgment of the contribution by the charity (done) before claiming a charitable contribution.
For any contribution of $250 or more (including contributions of cash or property), you must obtain and keep in your records a contemporaneous written acknowledgment from the qualified organization indicating the amount of the cash and a description of any property other than cash contributed.
Cash or property donations of $250 or more require a receipt from the charity. Fill out Form 8283 if you have over $500 in donated property or goods. The IRS may disallow your deduction for noncash charitable contributions if it is more than $500 and you dont submit Form 8283 with your return.
Because charitable contributions are often tax deductible, taxpayers must furnish proof in the form of an official dated receipt from the receiving organization or some other official transaction record.
Donation IDAdd a label to help identify different kinds of contributions (e.g., Holiday Campaign). Your donors see this label when they pay, and it also shows up in the transaction details that your staff and donors can view on the PayPal website.
You must prove the donation amount if you want to deduct it with one of these: Receipt. Bank or credit union statements. Canceled checks. Credit card statements.
The written acknowledgement must contain: Charity name. Amount of cash contribution. Description (but not the value) of any noncash contribution(s). Statement that the charity did not provide goods or services in return for the contribution, if that were the case.
As discussed, individuals and companies that donate to 501c3 public charities can deduct their gifts up to 100% of their AGI (Adjusted Gross Income). Contributions to private foundations are also tax-deductible but generally capped at 30% or 50% of the AGI.
