Provide identification if requested If the police ask for your identification, it is important to provide it as required by law. This can include a drivers license or any other form of government-issued ID. If you do not have identification on you, you can provide your name and date of birth.
To obtain an identification card, the individual must provide acceptable identification and proof of residency in Alberta Canada as required. The minimum age is 12, and applicants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to provide consent.
If your ID card has expired, or you require any changes, for example a name or address change, you must apply for the renewal in person at a registry agent office. Online ID card renewals require a verified account.
Change your Alberta Drivers Licence Name or Address The fee for changing your name or address is $28. You may need to have a new photo taken, but most likely you will be allowed to use the photo we have on file. You will, however, need to sign for the new driver licence.
Some examples of original documents that have a photo and may be used as proof of identity include: an ID card or drivers licence issued by any official government. a valid passport, NEXUS card or permanent resident card.
You will need to visit the registry office with an alternate form of identification such as: Birth Certificate. Valid Passport. National Defense card. Valid Indian Status card. Permanent Resident/Citizenship card. Valid Work/Study/Visitor permit. Current utility bill, phone bill, credit card bill.
Clients with suspensions, fines and/or restrictions may apply for an Alberta Identification Card; if the client has an Alberta Operators license the registry agent will re-class the 0perators License to an Identification Card. The suspension, fines and restrictions will remain on the client file until dealt with.
Here are some examples of acceptable Canadian government-issued identification documents: passport. citizenship card. Canadian permanent resident card. Canadian provincial or territorial drivers licence. Canadian provincial or territorial health card. Canadian provincial or territorial government identification cards.
