Hello and in this video, we are going to learn how to quickly select all headings in Word, and we want to do that in order to modify the format of existing headings. Of course, we can manually change each heading one by one, but if we have a really long document, that would be quite time consuming and tedious. What we really want is to select all headings, and then do the formatting changes all in one go. How do we do that? Well, the first step is to figure out what type of heading we have. Usually there are two types of headings one if the one that we manually formatted like this one. If you click on Heading 1, you can see that its still classified as normal text. So for manually formatted headings, what we need to do is to click anywhere on a sample heading. Remember to move your mouse cursor there, dont select the whole heading. And then go to Select, and choose select Text will similar formatting. And now all our headings are selected, and now we can easily change the font c

If your STYLES are in a messed up order or are missing a few items like STYLE 3 or HEADING 2, on the STYLES group of the HOME tab in Word 2007, 2010, 2013, or 2016 you can correct the situation by: Click the STYLES WINDOW popup. Click the OPTIONS button. Click the RECOMMEND tab.
Place the insertion point on the heading whose level you want to change. Click on the tool (on the Outline toolbar) that looks like a left-pointing arrow to make the heading a higher level. Click on the tool that looks like a right-pointing arrow to make the heading a lower level.
Number your headings Open your document that uses built-in heading styles, and select the first Heading 1. On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, choose Multilevel List. Under List Library, choose the numbering style you would like to use in your document.

Just select the heading text you want to customize, modify its styles the way you want, and then on the Home tab, in the Styles group, right-click the heading style that you customized and click Update Heading to Match Selection.

To add a heading style Type the text you want into a Word document. Select a sentence that you want to add a header to. Select Home Styles (or press Alt+H, then L), and then select the heading you want, such as the Heading 1 button.
