How to Change flag in binary

In this video tutorial, the process of how computers change the carry flag when the ALU adds or subtracts two unsigned integers is explained. The carry flag is a single binary bit used to indicate whether the ALU generated a carry out of the most significant bits. An example is shown using 5-bit registers to add 28 and 6, resulting in 34 (100010 in binary). The result only stores the five least significant bits, with the most significant bit not stored due to the limited register size. This leads to the ALU producing a result of 2 and setting the carry flag to one. The concept of carry is further explained using a number wheel, where transitions from 31 to 0 indicate when carry occurs.

Bit flags are used for compact representation of small sets of values. Each value is assigned a bit index. All integer numbers with the bit at that index set to 1 are interpreted as sets that include the corresponding member.
flags defines a distributed command line system, replacing systems like getopt() , optparse , and manual argument processing. Rather than an application having to define all flags in or near main() , each Python module defines flags that are useful to it.
A bitmask is a small set of booleans, often called flags, represented by the bits in a single number.
Flag variable is used as a signal in programming to let the program know that a certain condition has met. It usually acts as a boolean variable indicating a condition to be either true or false.
In programming languages like C or C++, Bit Flags are used to store more than one boolean value in one byte or a whole set of bytes. Usually, they are represented as binary.
Flags originally were used mainly in warfare, and to some extent they have remained insignia of leadership, serving for the identification of friend or foe and as rallying points. They are now also extensively employed for signaling, for decoration, and for display.

Bit-level operations – bit flags and bit masks SET FLAG. To set a flag, we use bitwise OR equals operator (|=). ... CLEAR FLAG. To clear a flag, we use bitwise AND equals operator (&=) with an inverse bit pattern (~) as a bitmask. ... CHECK FLAG. To check a flag state, we use bitwise AND operator (&). ... TOGGLE FLAG. ... USEFUL MACROS.
A flag is one or more data bits used to store binary values as specific program structure indicators. A flag is a component of a programming language's data structure.
Any data type can be used as a flag. An integer could have the value 1 if something happened and 0 if it did not. BUT because it is an integer, and the language will allow it to have any integer value, the flag could accidently be set to an inconsistent value, like 23.
