our Capitol watch tonight a bill in the legislature wants to crack down on those rental application fees thats where landlords charge for spread prospective tenants for things like credit and background checks this is Allison Zimmerman in studio tonight with the reaction from property managers and renters locally here Allison Robin Elizabeth a similar bill came out last year it failed in a Senate committee and now lawmakers are looking at limiting fees for tenants this bill would only allow landlords to charge for the processing of the application but property managers have concerns what am I gonna do sleep in my car more people are moving into Colorado and its getting more expensive to live by the minute I move from San Diego and its ten times worse out there and with more people there are less places to live there was no place to rent literally I went to seven or eight places and many rental companies charge an application fee I think Im gonna say it was between like forty and a
