Common bylaws include vehicle parking and stopping regulations, animal control, building and construction, licensing, noise, zoning and business regulation, and management of public recreation areas.
Amending bylaws procedures, such as the required notification, documentation, and majority vote required to revise, add, or delete a portion of the existing bylaws. Membership rules (if applicable), including eligibility guidelines for membership and member rights.
By-laws are the primary legislative instrument of municipalities in Ontario, including the City of Toronto. City Council makes decisions by adopting or amending recommendations from its committees and City officials contained in reports and communications.

Bylaws changes are only made by the house of delegates while Policy changes are made by the board of directors. Bylaws are high-level oriented while Policies are detailed oriented. Bylaws are rigid, the process to change is difficult while Policies are easy to adapt and the process to change is easy.
Changes to your directors and officers must be reported to the Ontario government within 15 days. For example, you must do this when a director or officer is elected, appointment by the board, or resigns. You can file this form yourself online using the OBR or by mail.
