[Music] okay so we wrapped up last episode talking about the classification and we know that classification is important because it impacts the recognition of compensation cost so lets start talking about that expense recognition on these share-based awards i know this area can get a bit complicated so can you help break it down a bit yeah so the granted fair value of an award is recognized as compensation cost over the employees requisite service period now the requisite service period may be stated explicitly or implicitly it may be derived from the actual award document as we discussed earlier the vesting can be based on service conditions performance conditions or a combination of both so you mentioned the term requisite service period can we talk a little bit more about that in cases where its explicit seems like it might be pretty obvious what to do but what about when its implicit or not stated at all how does one determine it yeah so for an implicit service period its esse

Consistent with the PROMISe™ Provider Handbook, all Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC) billing on a UB for services, should use a bill type 8XX and not the 13X used for outpatient facilities.
An ASC uses a combination of physician and hospital or clinical billing, employing the CPT and HCPCS level codes (as do most physicians), some insurance carriers permit an ASC to bill using ICD-10 procedure codes as does a hospital.
ASC Administrative Fee or ASC Fee means the fee paid by Vendors to ASC to fund the total cost of the ASC program. The ASC Fee must be included in the Vendor's pricing and discounts and will not be issued as a separate line item in any quotes, estimates, or otherwise issued to ASC members.
Payment for ambulatory surgical center (ASC) services is also based on rates set under Medicare Part B. This system for payment is called the ASC Payment System and is used when paying for covered surgical procedures, including ASC facility services that are furnished in connection with the covered surgical procedure.
Procedures Performed at the Ambulatory Surgery Center ENT/Otolaryngology: Ear tubes, adenoidectomies, tonsillectomies, tympanoplasties, frenulectomies, sinus surgery, and nasal septoplasties. Gastroenterology: Colonoscopy and EGD. General Surgery: Including hernia repair, breast biopsy, and laparoscopic procedures.
Medicare pays for facility services provided in ASCs—such as nursing, recovery care, anesthetics, drugs, and other supplies— using a payment system that is primarily linked to the hospital outpatient prospective payment system (OPPS).
The appropriate billing form depends on the type of facility. Hospital-based ASCs use the UB-04 form, while freestanding ASCs generally use the CMS 1500 form.
A process measure evaluates a particular aspect of the care that is delivered to the patient. Of the six ASC QC measures, four are outcome measures. These measures include 1) patient falls, 2) patient burns, 3) hospital transfer/admission and 4) wrong site/wrong side/wrong patient/wrong procedure/wrong implant.

Benefits of ASCs Patients are discharged home the same day as their surgery. Patients are afforded a more comfortable environment than a hospital. Easier access for patients and their families. Reduced risk of infections compared to hospitals. Cost-effective alternative to inpatient care.
