hey everybody so today we have in here we have one of our beautiful m1 pro m1 max machines in here and theyre just a little bit of a problem im going through the security settings just trying to install an os shouldnt be too big of a deal right but let me just show you guys exactly what the issue is and why were making this video in the first place all we want to do for this one is install the os and uh and get the data right so for these ones you have to hold down the power button over here and youll see now it says starting continue holding for startup options this is pretty much the option key for the newer max and its its a way of getting to the boot menu here so were going to go ahead and do that and now were greeted obviously with this and were loading waiting for the hard drive theres a hard drive there theres a problem with the os so what we want to do is back up the data and reinstall the operating system so what we want to do is when we go to option because that

Use a drop box to share a file with another user of your Mac In the Finder on your Mac, choose Go Go to Folder. Enter /Users/[username]/Public, then press Return. Drag the item (or a copy of it) into the Drop Box folder.
Open User Groups by navigating to Apple menu System Preferences Users Groups. Click the lock icon at the bottom left corner of the preference pane and provide your password to unlock the pane. Hold the control button and click on the admin you are renaming from the list of users on the left side of the pane.
Thats easy: Boot into the newly created admin account, then pull down the  Apple menu and choose System Preferences Go to Users Groups and click the padlock icon to be able to modify user accounts. Select the original user account that you want to modify to Admin account privileges.

Your Mac can have multiple administrators. You can create new ones, and convert standard users to administrators. Dont set up automatic login for an administrator. If you do, someone could simply restart your Mac and gain access with administrator privileges.
