Can you amend an invoice and is it legal? Generally, it is legal to amend an invoice that is missing information or includes an error. However you should never delete an invoice if this happens. It is important for auditing reasons that you hold onto records, even if they are incomplete or incorrect.
Go to Settings ⚙ select Account and settings, and then select Sales. In the Messages section, select the edit (pencil ✎) icon. From the Sales form dropdown, select Estimates or Invoices and other sales forms and type the default message to customers. Select Save and Done.
Heres how to do it for text-based PDF invoices: Open Microsoft Word on your PC. Click on Open, search for the PDF invoice, and open it in Word. Youll get a prompt that Word will now convert your PDF into an editable document. Your invoice will open in Word, and you will see that you can edit the text easily.
How to change content in email invoices? Click on the Gear Icon. Click on Account Settings. Click on Sales tab. Look for Messages field and under Email message you can edit the default email sent to your customers. Make your corrections, and click on Save and Done.
