pouncing is a very ancient technique and has probably been used for thousands of years the nice thing as if you were going to do um half a dozen columns with capitals um you only need to do one drawing and you can pounce it and and and use the same pounce for each column we draw a design on the tracing paper and then we use uh needle work pouncing Wheels to prick the hole WS unless the pattern is very tight Curves in which case we often have to take a pin and actually prick each one individually we then sand off the rough parts of this um pricking [Music] through we put the pounce on the surface where we need to repeat the pattern or design and we rub either either charcoal or dry pigment paint through and when we take the paper away we are left with pin Pricks of color that outline the design this is used instead of a stencil in situations where you want to paint into something more so you dont want it to look for instance like a wallpaper and then from that drawing Id like to go on
