Aaron Thomas from prenups.com discusses the possibility of changing prenup terms after marriage. He explains that 98% of the time, couples can modify their prenup through a post-nuptial agreement (postnup), which is similar to a prenup but signed after marriage. This agreement can address alimony, asset ownership, and debt responsibility, just as prenups do. However, both types of agreements cannot cover child custody or child support. Currently, 49 out of 50 states allow postnuptial agreements, with Iowa being the only exception following Ohio's legalization in early 2023. Thomas hints at various reasons couples might consider a postnup, setting the stage for further explanations.
