Answer and Explanation: Yes. Articles of incorporation are the legal documents that are filed with the government body to authenticate that the corporation has been established legally. After every 5 years, the articles of incorporation expires and is renewed within 60 days without any renewal fees needed.
Articles of Amendment under the Business Corporations Act (BCA) must be completed and filed by an Ontario business corporation to amend, add, change or remove provisions set out in its articles (e.g., corporation name, minimum/maximum number of directors, share structure, etc.).
Once your business or organization is incorporated, you can change the legal structure of your organization through an amend notice.
Requested Date for Incorporation The date of incorporation is the effective date that your corporation is incorporated. You may choose a future date up to 30 calendar days later than the current date, as long as the Nuans Report date is valid. You cannot choose a past date.
The date of incorporation is the date on which Corporations Canada receives the Articles of Incorporation and the fees. For administrative purposes, you may wish to request a later incorporation date when you file your articles.
How to Obtain a Copy of your Articles of Incorporation. There are three ways to obtain copies of Articles of Incorporation. Order the Microfiche in person at Service Ontarios office: 375 University. You can order the Microfiche by fax: 416-314-0102. You can order the Microfiche using the internet;
You can file Articles of Amendment online if you received a company key giving you authority over the corporation (see Notice Company Key). You can file directly with the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services (Ministry) through ServiceOntario at our website .ontario.ca/businessregistry.
