In the last class, we discussed using discrete wavelet transform in images and planned to cover how DWT coefficients are encoded to generate a bit stream. Due to time constraints, we will continue discussing this topic in this lecture, focusing on embedded zerotree wavelet encoding. We introduced the parent-child relationship between coefficients in different subbands and noted that one pixel or coefficient in a coarser scale corresponds to four coefficients in the next finer scale, forming a tree structure.
