In this tutorial, Mary Dee Brown demonstrates how to edit an ePub file on a computer. An ePub file is essentially a zip file with nested folders containing XHTML text, images, CSS, fonts, and metadata. Editing ePub files can be done with an ebook editing tool, with some knowledge of HTML being helpful. To edit the content of an ePub file, first change the file extension from .epub to .zip by right-clicking, selecting rename, and saving the name change in docHub. Windows may prompt a warning about changing the file type, to which you should click yes to proceed. If the extension does not show, go to the view tab, uncheck the box beside hide extensions for known file types, and make the file type change as above. After changing the file type, you can search through the files in the ePub and observe that it mostly contains HTML or XHTML files.
