Go to Insert Symbols Symbol. In the Symbols dialogue box, within the Symbols tab, select the Font. Scroll down the symbols list and select the bullet you want to insert. Click on the Insert button.
Definition. A data series is a range of related data points in a chart such as bars, columns, or pie slices. A data point is a point in a data series. It is denoted by a data marker, which is a chart object such as a circle, dot or square.
Add the data point label Click on the highlighted data point to select it. Click the Chart Elements button. Select the Data Labels box and choose where to position the label. By default, Excel shows one numeric value for the label, y value in our case.
You can add a single data point in the line chart as follows: Beside the source data, type the specified data point you will add in the chart. Right-click the line chart, and click Select Data from the context menu. In the Select Data Source dialog box, please click the Add button in the Legend Entries (Series) section.
Indenting Individual Lines of Text in a Cell Select the desired cell(s). Turn on Wrap Text using the instructions above. Click your cursor into the desired cell. Type the desired text. Dot plots are used for continuous, quantitative, univariate data. Data points may be labelled if there are few of them. Dot plots are one of the simplest statistical plots, and are suitable for small to moderate sized data sets. They are useful for highlighting clusters and gaps, as well as outliers.
If you have a numeric keypad on the right side of your keyboard, press ALT+7 for a bullet. Different fonts provide different symbols. If your font does not provide the bullet, try selecting a font such as Wingdings in the Symbol dialog box. Then enter character code 159.
In a dot plot, data points (dots) are stacked in a column over a category. The height of the column represents the frequency of observations in a given category. In the dot plot above, the categories are the numbers 0 through 9.
