Unfortunately, Excel does not allow the header names to be changed. The same applies to row names in Excel. You cannot change the row names, or numbering, but you can add your desired row names in column A for the corresponding rows. Instead, if you want to have meaningful column header names, you can do the following.
Rename a column using table designer In Object Explorer, right-click the table to which you want to rename columns and choose Design. Under Column Name, select the name you want to change and type a new one. On the File menu, select Save table name.
On the Excel menu, click Preferences. Under Authoring, click Calculation . Clear the Use R1C1 reference style check box. The column headings now show A, B, and C, instead of 1, 2, 3, and so on.
