Now, Im creating a new menu, which will be linked as the translation of this menu. To display this menu, you can specify the menu in the default language. WPML automatically hooks to the menu system and will display the correct menu in the current language. After generating the key and installing WPML on your WordPress site, you just go to your WordPress > Plugins > Add new > Commercial and here you add the key.
Adding language switcher to your WordPress navigation menu Simply go to the Appearance » Menus page and click on the 'Language Switcher' tab in the left column. Now select the languages you want to display and then click on add to menu button. You will now see languages added to your WordPress navigation menu.
You can add hreflang tags to your WordPress website without a plugin, by updating your header. php file. To access this file, you'll need to navigate to Appearance > Theme Editor, or use File Transfer Protocol (FTP). In this example, the tags need to be added to the English language content.
If you would like to change to a different format after setting up WPML, you can do so by going to WPML → Languages and scrolling to Language URL format. You can choose from the following options: Different languages in directories.
Below are the steps to change the default language. Go to WPML > Language > Site Languages. Click on "Change Default Language" button and Switch to "Spanish" Go to WP > Settings > Permalinks > Resave Permalinks.
Users expect the language selector to be located in the header or the footer of each page, and they often watch out for flags, “Globe” or “Translate” icons to find it. If you have just a few languages, a drop-down overlay might be perfectly enough.
Go to WPML → Languages. In the Site Languages section, click Edit Languages. Here, you can choose a different flag from WPML's directory or upload your own.
You can add a custom language as you set up WPML on your site for the first time. To add a custom language, click the Create a Custom Language link on the first step of the wizard. If you are setting up a country-specific language, choose the main language from the dropdown menu and the specific country it's for.
Below are the steps to change the default language. Go to WPML > Language > Site Languages. Click on "Change Default Language" button and Switch to "Spanish" Go to WP > Settings > Permalinks > Resave Permalinks.
To register WPML: Start the setup wizard, and click Get a key for this site on the step to register. If you already have WPML configured on your site, you can register by going to Plugins → Add New and clicking the Commercial tab. Click Get a key for this site to generate a site key in your WPML account.
