welcome to Excel campus my name is Jon and in this video Im going to explain how to create this column chart that displays the percentage change. So here we have this regular column chart with the annual revenue trend and between each of the bars we have this percentage variance thats displayed with this error bar here that allows us to see the percentage change between each year and so this chart was inspired by a chart on an article I saw over at the visual capitalists this chart here was an article on music industry trends and they have the percentage change displayed here on top of each of these revenue bars and one problem we typically face with column charts like this is that we want to display the amount in this case the total revenue and we also want to display the percentage change and this solution here I think does a pretty good job of that without cluttering the chart too much so in the solution Ive created up here its very similar the only difference is that it also al

On the Design tab, in the Type group, click Change Chart Type. In the Change Chart Type dialog box, click a chart type that you want to use.
You can change the type of chart you think would best represent your data at any time. To change the Clustered Column to Pie, select your chart. On the Chart Design tab, click Change Chart Type Pie Pie. Your new chart type will show in your spreadsheet.
You can change the style of a chart using the predefined Quick Styles. Quick Styles apply combinations of fonts, line styles, fills, and shape effects.
Click the chart that you want to format. This displays the Chart Tools, adding the Design, Layout, and Format tabs. On the Design tab, in the Chart Styles group, click the chart style that you want to use. Tip: To see all predefined chart styles, click More .
Select the chart, click the Chart Elements button. The bar chart has more elements than the pie chart. I check Data Table and it is added to the chart. To change the data series for the chart, right-click the chart, click Select Data in the right-click menu, select the Chart data range and click OK.
On your Android phone or tablet, open a spreadsheet in the Google Sheets app. Double-tap the chart you want to edit. Tap Edit chart. Choose from: Type: Change the chart type. Legend: Change the legend location. Titles: Change the chart and axis titles. When youre done, tap Done .
Right-click your chart, and then choose Select Data. In the Legend Entries (Series) box, click the series you want to change. Click Edit, make your changes, and click OK. Changes you make may break links to the source data on the worksheet.
You can change the way that table rows and columns are plotted in a chart. A chart plots the rows of data from the table on the charts vertical (value) axis and the columns of data on the horizontal (category) axis. You can reverse the way the chart is plotted.
