I work with one of Ontario�s health technology assessment groups that generates evidence relevant to this. I think I am speaking to one of the key workshop objectives, which is to think about innovative hearing technologies and their role in healthy aging, and explore barriers to the development and use. Health technology assessment is a very important tool. It is both a barrier, and the drug industry commonly talks about health technology assessment as the fourth hurdle after getting through a Phase 1 clinical trial, a Phase 2 clinical trial, a Phase 3 clinical trial, the health technology assessment would be a fourth hurdle.
