How to type an arrow? Make sure you switch on the NumLock, press and hold down the Alt key, type the Alt Code value of the arrow you want, for example for an arrow down symbol, type 2 5 on the numeric pad , release the Alt key and you got a downwards arrow.
From the File tab, select Options. Click the Display tab. In the section Always show these formatting marks on the screen, un-check everything except Object Anchors. Press OK.
That arrow appears because the style for that text is set to either Heading 1, Heading 2, etc. Clicking the arrow allows you to expand or collapse texts under that heading. To remove it, you must change the style to Normal or another style that is not for headings.
There is Insert tab at the top of the word document. Click the tab to access the menu under. Hit the Illustrations tab and there you can see the Shapes to get the work done. Click Line and Connectors option to access the type of shape i.e. arrow.
