if youre a student I highly suggest sharing this video with your teacher because one of the most important pieces of the puzzle when it comes to college applications are the letters of recommendations or the Lors and I see a lot of students missing out on this because of misinformation and just lack of time in general unfortunately for international students I see that teachers ask you guys to write your own letters of recommendation and as an international student I face this myself now as unethical as it is I really dont blame the teachers because you know this whole process is new to them and they dont have all of the information that they need as well so Im going to talk about the letters of recommendations both for prospective undergrad as well as graduate students and I want to do something different Im going to divide this video into two parts the first part is going to be directed directly to the teachers Im going to be talking to all of the school teachers professors out

If you need to make changes to a submitted recommendation, you can do so only if the applicant has not submitted their final application to their school.
We recommend that students begin to request letters of recommendation from their teacher(s) prior to the end of junior year. The second best option is at the very beginning of senior year. Of course, if you end up forging a close bond with a teacher that youve only had in senior year, you can make an exception.
Just send them an e-mail back letting them know about the issue. Probably they have sent out multiple letters whilst forgetting to update the date, so they might be happy to be notified so they can correct it for everyone.
The start of your senior year is a good time to begin asking teachers for recommendation letters, especially if youre applying for early decision. Remember, the more time your teacher has, the more likely theyll write you a thoughtful, detailed letter.
Can you ask the teacher to change their recommendation letter if they wrote something negative about you in it? No you cannot. A recommendation letter yhat carties weight, is written directly to the school.
If your sophomore year teacher can provide a strong, detailed, and enthusiastic recommendation that highlights your strengths, then their letter could be a valuable addition to your application.
Admissions officers generally want to see letters of recommendation from high school teachers and counselors. But some colleges have more specific requirements than others.
Whom to Ask for College Recommendation Letters Junior year teachers or senior year teachers are usually the best for writing recommendations, since they are more likely to have taught you in a high-level course, taught you over a few years, and/or know you in different capacities.
